Local Orthopedic Doctors Host Event On Joint Pain Relief
Charleston, SC - East Cooper Medical Center and Southern Orthopedics and Sports Medicine will host an event on joint pain and how to get relief from this common medical issue. The event will feature local orthopedic specialists, Drs. William Estes and Brodie McKoy where the two experts will speak with attendees about the causes of and treatments for joint pain. The event will be held on Tuesday, August 30 in the medical center's main classroom and lobby from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The event is free to the public.
According to the Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention, one in three adults suffer from joint pain with knee pain being the most common. "As our baby boomer generation moves into the years where chronic joint pain is very common, we want to make sure they realize treatment is available," explains Dr. Estes, a partner at Southern Orthopedics and Sports Medicine who is board certified in orthopedics and specializes in minimally invasive surgical treatments of shoulder, knee and elbow injuries. "Ignoring joint pain can be a very harmful mistake, creating more health issues down the road."
